Jacek Żakowski

Jacek Żakowski is a writer, journalist and teacher. He graduated from the Faculty of Journalism and Political Science at the University of Warsaw. One of the founders of “Gazeta Wyborcza,” in which he is now an opinion writer, he also works for “Polityka” as a journalist and commentator. He was the first head of the Polish Information Agency and now is the head of the Department of Journalism at Collegium Civitas in Warsaw. He is the author of numerous television programs, radio programs and books. In the 1990s, together with Piotr Najsztub, he hosted an iconic talk show, “Tok-Szok”. In 1997, he became the first winner of the Grand Press Award for the Journalist of the Year, awarded by the magazine “Press.” The same year, he received two Wiktor awards as an outstanding television personality.
