Joanna has been flooded with awards in Poland, as well as abroad – it received i.a. the Award for the Best Short Documentary Film in Palm Springs, special award at Docs Against Gravity and the Audience Award at the Warsaw Film Festival. However, what brought Kopacz’ film the greatest fame, was its Oscar nomination in 2015. The music to Joanna was written by Jan A.P. Kaczmarek.
