Irène Jacob

One of the most renowned French actresses of her generation. She debuted in 1987 in Louis Malle’s film Goodbye Children. She is best known for her cooperation with Krzysztof Kieślowski in The Double Life of Véronique - for her double role in the production Irene was awarded the Golden Palm in Cannes. This led to another role in Kieślowski’s movie - Three Colours: Red where she starred with Jean-Louis Trintignant and Juliette Binoche. For this performance she was nominated for Cezar and for BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role. A year eariler, she performed a marvelous role in Agnieszka Holland’s The Secret Garden. She also appeared as Desdemona’s in Shakespeare’s Othello directed by Oliver Parker.
