Matthias Hornschuh

Matthias Hornschuh (1968) lives and works in Cologne as a composer for film, TV and radio. Besides commissioned compositions for the media & theatre, he also writes and produces songs and music for leisure parks, and deals as author, director and freelance producer with acoustic art, research into football movement and cultural mediation projects.
Hornschuh regularly teaches at various universities and, in his texts, investigates the fringe area between theory and practice.
Founder and chairman of the Association of Media Composers mediamusic, co-founder of SoundTrack_Cologne. Awards (together with Andreas Hornschuh): European Prize of GEMA, AKM, SACEM und Fondation SUISA at the 4th International Film Music Biennale Bonn 2002. BEST ORIGINAL SCORE 2008 at the 24fps-Festival (Abilene, USA) for the orchestral score of the animation film DELIVERY (Germany 2005, Director Till Nowak).
