Accordion trio
It is a Polish accordion trio established by Janusz Wojtarowicz, the inventor of the “accordion trio” idea, which, just as string quartets, becomes a classical band headcount. Janusz Wojtarowicz, the author of most compositions played by Motion Trio, Paweł Baranek and Marcin Gałażyn, are world-class accordionists who strive to present the fullest scale of their instruments’ possibilities. The trio has won multiple prestigious awards, i.a. Grand Prix of the 4th Krzysztof Penderecki International Competition of Contemporary Chamber Music, Deutsche Shallplattenkritik. They have gained recognition among critics and audiences during their performances in 36 different countries on almost every continent. TThey have worked with such stars as Krzysztof Penderecki, Michael Nyman, Bobby McFerrin, Tomasz Stańko, Leszek Możdżer, Michał Urbaniak, Trilok Gurtu.
