Tomasz Siwiński

The areas of artistic activity of Tomasz Siwiński include film and painting. His first short film "TV-set", which he created during his studies, was recognized as one of the best polish animation films of the last few years.The recurrent element in his works is the struggle of a man and the surrounding matter with the unpredictable element of chaos. He is interested in disruptions and hazardous metamorphoses of reality.Tomasz Siwiński was born in 1982 in Koszalin (Poland). He studied at the Faculty of Multimedia Communication of the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań (Poland) at the department of photography. After completing the first year, he moved to the Aademy of Fine Arts in Krakow (Poland), where he completed his   MA studies at the Painting Department and the Animated Film Studio of Jerzy Kucia. He participated in a scholarship programme at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore (USA) in 2005. In 2007 he received his MA diploma in the studio of prof. Andrzej Bednarczyk with distinction.His films have been presented at numerous festivals in Poland and abroad, e.g. in Clermont- Ferrand, Utrecht, Zagreb, Uppsala, Stuttgart or at the Krakow Film Festival. Siwiński is a member of the international association of animators ASIFA and The Polish Filmmakers Association.
